Mayor Johannes Henne: Software company is an important employer for the region
Immenstaad, 10 February 2020 – International software company Actico is committed to staying in Immenstaad. On Monday 10 February, Christine Moosherr and Thomas Knöpfler, the co-owners and founders of Actico, joined Immenstaad’s Mayor Johannes Henne to sign the purchase contract on an 11,000 square-metre site in the Steigwiesen II industrial park. Actico plans to build a modern headquarters and innovation centre in a peaceful location on the edge of the forest.
“The site will provide a creative working environment in a natural setting,” says Moosherr. Unlike the company’s present headquarters on the main road between Immenstaad and Kluftern, it will be largely free from traffic noise. “It also means we can make the most of the outdoor areas – for lunch breaks, in-house sports activities, and meetings”, says Moosherr. There is also plenty of space for e-bike charging stations and car parks.
The plan is to build a light and airy building that will initially accommodate up to 200 staff. It will be possible to expand it to make room for another 100 workstations if required. “Our company is growing steadily, and we are regularly taking on new staff. We want our new offices to provide our existing and future colleagues with a pleasant, spacious working environment. Our current location is almost at full capacity”, explains Knöpfler. Teamwork and communication are written large in the design of the new building. It will have open-plan work areas with communication and rest areas, training and conference rooms, a staff canteen and spacious bathrooms so that employees can freshen up after cycling to work or other sports activities. Two designs have made it onto the shortlist and are currently being studied, and employees will be consulted on the details.
After the contract was signed, Mayor Johannes Henne commented: “We’re delighted that we can offer a leading international company such as Actico the opportunity to expand here in Immenstaad”. He added that Actico is a forward-looking employer that is “important for the region.” The Steigwiesen II industrial park has space for up to 20 companies on a 50,000-square-metre site, about half of which has now been allocated.
