Our ESG initiatives

We Act Responsibly for Sustainable Development

We are convinced that sustainability and responsible actions are fundamental components of our business model. As a technology company, we understand the immense responsibility we have towards our environment, our employees, our customers and society as a whole. As such, we are committed to continuously improving our business practices and making a positive impact on the world around us. In this section, you will learn more about our ESG initiatives and how we are actively helping to shape a sustainable future.

We make our commitment measurable and are proud to have it independently confirmed: We received the ecovadis Sustainability Rating Bronze Medal for our sustainability efforts!

ACTICO is actively committed to environmental protection. We are continuously minimizing our ecological impact and improving our environmental protection measures. The concrete measures we implement as part of our ongoing efforts to achieve environmental sustainability are as follows:

Science Based Target Initiative

Our Commitment to reducing Emissions in line with the Paris Climate Agreement

As part of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), ACTICO is committed to ambitious emission reduction targets. Within our existing CSR strategy, the SBTi registration is another effective instrument with which we are making a lasting and active contribution to limiting the global rise in temperature.

Our Targets

Our targets

As a registered company, we are committed to specific, measurable targets for emissions generated in the context of our value chain.
The fact that these specific targets are appropriate and effective in contributing to the overall goal of the Paris Climate Agreement is based on verifiable scientific research.

Specifically, as part of the target validation process for small and medium-sized enterprises, ACTICO is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from certain areas (Scope 1 and 2) by 42% by 2030 and to measuring and reducing other emissions (Scope 3).

  • Scope 1 refers to direct emissions, e.g. from operational facilities, company vehicles or processes.
  • Scope 2 refers to indirect emissions that arise, for example, from the purchase of electricity, steam, heat and cooling for our own use.

Scope 3 refers to emissions from upstream and downstream activities – such as employees’ commuting to and from work, purchased goods and services, investments and leased assets.

What is the Science Based Targets initiative?

The SBTi is a pioneering partnership between the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The non-profit organization supports companies in defining meaningful and effective climate targets. The SBTi therefore uses sound scientific research to ensure that the targeted measures are actually suitable for keeping global warming below a critical level.

At ACTICO, we have a clear vision of governance and consider it as a critical component of our corporate culture. We have implemented various measures to ensure effective decision-making, risk management, protection of our stakeholders’ interests, transparent corporate governance, and a long-term corporate strategy.

To identify risks at an early stage and avoid financial losses, we have established a robust risk management system. This system enables us to improve decision-making and promote business continuity. By implementing an internal control system (ICS), we ensure that our business processes run efficiently and in compliance with the law, and that potential risks are identified and minimized. Our compliance projects are certified in accordance with IDW PS 951.

To assess the effectiveness of our internal controls, risk management processes, and governance structures, we have integrated the internal audit function. We protect the interests of our stakeholders by taking due account of their concerns and expectations.
