Actico listed as a Sample Vendor in 3 Gartner Hype Cycle reports

Actico identified as a Sample Vendor for Decision Intelligence as well as for Composite AI.

Immenstaad/Chicago/Singapore – August 13, 2020 – Actico, a leading global provider of intelligent automation and digital decisioning, today announced that it was recognized as a Sample Vendor in 3 recent Gartner Hype Cycle reports: Hype Cycle for Data Science and Machine Learning, 2020 ¹, Hype Cycle for Artificial Intelligence, 2020 ² and Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies, 2020 ³.

Gartner identified Actico as a Sample Vendor for Decision Intelligence in Hype Cycle for Data Science and Machine Learning, 2020 and Hype Cycle for Artificial Intelligence, 2020.  As well as a Sample Vendor for Composite AI in Hype Cycle for Artificial Intelligence, 2020 and Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies, 2020. Decision Intelligence (DI) is a new entry for the Hype Cycle for Data Science and Machine Learning, 2020 ¹ . According to Gartner’s description of Decision Intelligence  “This provides a conceptual framework that includes decision management, decision support, continuous intelligence and process management.”¹ .

In the Hype Cycle for Data Science and Machine Learning, 2020 ¹ in category Decision Intelligence Gartner states “in a dynamic and increasingly complex business environment where business processes are siloed and disjointed, preventing the proper harmonization of collective decision outcomes, decisions are often ineffective.” Gartner mentions “Five key reasons contribute to this: The pace of business is increasing, Unstructured, ad hoc decisions are becoming more frequent; Collaboration between man and machines is expanding; Tighter regulations are making risk management more prevalent; Consistency of decisions across the organization is questionable.”

Gartner adds “Fueled by the COVID-19 crisis, the decision management space and by extension the DI space is bound to see an acceleration in its adoption. What the crisis revealed is the opacity and brittleness of decision models; rebuilding those models into adaptable and flexible models will require the discipline brought about by DI methods and techniques.”

Gartner provides a piece of user advice in the category Composite AI in its report Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies, 2020 ³ to “leverage domain knowledge and human expertise to provide context to and complement data-driven insights, by applying decision management with business rules, knowledge graphs or physical models in conjunction with machine learning models.”
