IT Infrastructure Engineer / Systemadministrator (f/m/d)

Your Challenge

In this role, you will be the backbone of our IT infrastructure. Your task is not only to manage the status quo, but also to actively take our systems to the next level.

• Administration & Optimization: You will maintain and optimize our hybrid client and server landscape (Windows/Linux/MacOS) as well as the virtualization environment in the data center based on VMware
• 2nd & 3rd Level Support: You will process complex tickets in the infrastructure environment and act as a technical expert (f/m/d) for in-depth problems
• Cloud Transformation: You will assist us in managing and expanding our multi-cloud resources (Microsoft Azure or AWS) and M365 services.
• Network Infrastructure: You will ensure smooth operation – from firewalls and VPN access to core switches and WLAN solutions.
• IT Security: You will implement security policies, monitor backup strategies, and respond proactively to monitoring alerts
• Automation: Repetitive tasks are a thing of the past for you. You rely on automated deployments and system hardening. Whether through classic scripting or modern automation platforms, you minimize manual intervention and intelligently control our system landscape
• Technical implementation of projects: Whether rollouts, migrations, or the introduction of new tools, you plan and implement technical projects in close coordination with the Head of IT, from conception to go-live.
• Knowledge management & documentation: You ensure that system configurations, processes, and emergency plans are always up to date and transparent for the team.
• Service provider management: You maintain and implement comprehensive, professional IT documentation. You manage external service partners and providers, coordinate maintenance work, and ensure compliance with agreed service level agreements (SLAs).

Your Skills

You have the technical foundation and necessary experience to confidently master complex environments.

• Education/studies: You have completed training as an IT specialist for system integration, a degree in (business) information technology, or a comparable qualification with relevant professional experience.
• Infrastructure expertise: You have comprehensive expertise in Windows administration (servers and clients) and, ideally, experience in heterogeneous environments with macOS and Linux.
• Cloud know-how: You are confident in working with cloud infrastructures and modern workplace solutions (M365, Intune/Endpoint Management).
• Network expertise: Terms such as VLAN, routing, subnetting, and IPsec are part of your everyday toolkit.
• IT security & compliance: Experience in dealing with audits, penetration tests, and business continuity processes.
• Working style & personality: You work in a structured and solution-oriented manner and have a strong hands-on mentality. You enjoy taking on responsibility, are actively involved in operations, and have strong communication and organizational skills.
• Interest in new things: You question existing structures, follow technological developments with interest, and actively contribute your own ideas
• Languages: In our international corporate structure, you communicate confidently in German and English—whether in exchanges with colleagues worldwide, external partners, or in technical documentation
